Australia Women’s Futsal Team Set for AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers in Uzbekistan
Football Australia has officially revealed the 14-player squad that will represent the nation in the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup™ Qualifiers, set to take place in Uzbekistan. The squad was carefully selected by Miles Downie, who has been appointed as the Head Coach for this campaign. The players were chosen after a rigorous five-day invitational selection camp, which was held in Western Sydney.
The upcoming qualifiers, scheduled for January 11-19, 2025, will see the Australian Women’s National Futsal Team competing in Group C. They will face host nation Uzbekistan, as well as Turkmenistan, the Philippines, and Kuwait. These matches will be an important test for the team as they look to secure their place in the prestigious Asian Cup tournament.
The team’s first match will be against Turkmenistan on January 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM local time (9:00 PM AEDT). Following that, Australia will take on Kuwait on January 13 at 6:00 PM local time (12:00 AM AEDT, January 14), and then face Uzbekistan on January 17 at 6:00 PM local time (12:00 AM AEDT, January 18). The final group-stage match will be against the Philippines on January 19 at 3:00 PM local time (9:00 PM AEDT).
