Ian Wright says Arsenal hero could play for Real Madrid
Real Madrid may use some strengthening at a few different spots in the near future. One of them has to be the center-back. Eder Militao is expected to miss the bulk, if not all, of the current season after tearing his ACL earlier in the year. It would also be intriguing to watch how his career is affected in the long run by such a serious injury.
The club’s other current center-back possibilities are Nacho Fernandez, David Alaba, and Antonio Rudiger. All three of them are older than 30 and are not long-term defense-related answers.
Real Madrid will therefore eventually need to add one or more center backs. One more
Saliba has been a standout performer for Arsenal. He showed his quality at the weekend, keeping Erling Haaland quiet for the entire game as Manchester City lost to Mikel Arteta’s side. Could the 22-year-old Frenchman turn out for Real Madrid in the future?
To be honest, Saliba most likely qualifies for Real Madrid’s starting lineup at this moment. The team’s defense has long been a weak point.
They have been winning games because of the skill of each player up front, but their defense has been quite lacking. As they have only given up six goals in the league thus far this season, things have been looking up lately.
Real Madrid, though, always seems to have trouble when facing strong competition. In the match against Atletico Madrid and twice against Napoli, they both gave up three goals. They gave up nearly twice as many goals in the league as Barcelona did the previous season.
