Windsor is set to experience a new wave of excitement with the arrival of the city’s first indoor pickleball facility. The Pickleplex Social Club, expected to open in early 2025 at Eastown Plaza on Lauzon Road, will be dedicated solely to pickleball enthusiasts. Unlike multi-purpose recreational spaces, the Pickleplex will be a specialized facility offering pickleball all day, with six high-end courts available for use.
The Pickleplex will cater to players with top-notch amenities, including comfortable changing rooms, secure lockers, and a welcoming social space for gatherings. Co-founder Gina Facca shared her vision for the facility, emphasizing its unique focus: “We’re creating a space solely for pickleball – open 16 hours a day, with early morning to late-night access. It’s all about pickleball for everyone.”
This new development stems from a growing demand for indoor pickleball facilities. Facca explained that existing recreational centers in surrounding areas are overwhelmed by requests for more pickleball time slots. The Pickleplex aims to address this need, providing a dedicated venue for the sport’s rising popularity in Windsor.
In addition to the Windsor location, other Pickleplex franchises are set to open in Barrie, Belleville, and Pickering later in 2024 and into 2025, reflecting the nationwide growth of this fast-paced, enjoyable sport.
As pickleball continues to gain momentum across Canada, the Pickleplex Social Club promises to offer players a premier experience in Windsor, ensuring enthusiasts have access to quality courts and facilities to enjoy the game at its best.
