Michael Porter Jr. throws one of the worst first pitches of all-time

Like his Denver Nuggets teammates Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic, and Jamal Murray, who have traveled to almost every continent this summer, Michael Porter Jr. is on his own global trip.

Over the weekend, MPJ visited Taiwan, where he was surrounded by the media, his supporters, and signs of himself at the airport. Porter visited with students, went to a drug-education program, and watched a baseball game during his four-day trip.

However, MPJ did not heed the advise almost everyone receives while tossing out the celebrity first pitch at the baseball game. Watch as MPJ laughs off a terrible toss to home plate when he is in Taiwan.

Despite the earlier recommendation not to bounce it, MPJ naturally flung it directly into the ground. He looks happy before and after the pitch, and maybe the Colorado Rockies will give him another chance soon. He’ll be a star forward for the Denver Nuggets for a long time.

Before the pitch, the pregame ceremony did take a turn when a fan ran onto the field to approach the Nuggets star. However, all the fan wanted was a hug. Porter performed admirably.

MPJ greeted his new acquaintance with a handshake and a funny “good to meet you,” and then yelled, “Run my boy, run,” as security pursued the fan on the field. MPJ scoffed at it.

Overall, we hope that MPJ will be able to visit Taiwan as a champion every summer.

He and the other Nuggets players will return for training camp in approximately a month; their opening game is on October 24 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Following back surgery, Porter, 25, is seeking to improve on a solid two-way season in 2022–23 that helped the Nuggets win the NBA Finals.
