David Beckham paid Gary O’Neil and Wolves a visit during the team’s last Florida training session.
As the Old Gold prepared to face RB Leipzig at the Chase Stadium, which towers above their training facility of the past two weeks, they met the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF.
Beckham spent time chatting to O’Neil, who he’d faced during his playing days at Manchester United, while the now Wolves coach was at Portsmouth.
He also chatted to the like of Jose Sa, Pablo Sarabia and Nelson Semedo, who also spent time with former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who both now represent Miami.
Following Wolves’ final friendly out in the United States, against RB Leipzig, the group travelled home to the UK.
Speaking at the conclusion of the trip, Captain Mario Lemina expressed gratitude for the camp’s atmosphere.
Lemina stated: “It was really difficult last year during the summer because there were a lot of things going on.” The camaraderie between the group and the gaffer is working quite well right now. The most crucial thing is that we all want to work with him and that we know where we want to go. We’ve been incredibly enthusiastic and hope to outperform last year, and everyone is dedicated to the goal.
“On a personal level, I feel excellent and quite upbeat. I believe that the majority of the players share my sense of fitness. Being optimistic about the work you’ve done thus far is crucial.
We all share the same goals: we want to work extremely hard, develop chemistry, and become a cohesive unit. We’re optimistic in our current approach, and hopefully it will be successful for the season’s opening game.
