Sandro Tonali lights up Milan press conference with Wetherspoons story as he breaks San Siro tension
Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali has explained how he ended up in Wetherspoons
Sandro Tonali said his time at the Wetherspoons in Gosforth was “a special night” after admitting staff members gave him advice when he inquired about a nice restaurant.
After the 5-1 victory over Aston Villa, Tonali found himself in the Job Bulman in Gosforth, but he later admitted he had “fun” talking to fans and drinking beers with them. After Newcastle’s two-hour delay and
‘s apology to the Italian Press, talk of cheap and jovial beers in Milan eased the atmosphere inside the San Siro.
After the Villa game, I inquired about restaurants, pubs, or clubs, but I didn’t get the response I was hoping for. This is how Tonali ended up working at the well-known bar in Milan. But it was also enjoyable. My family and I spent the night in a bar. And that night was unique.
Tonali, though, claimed that the personnel and players on Tyneside could not have given him a nicer welcome. He made his quick transfer while traveling with the Italy Under-21 team to the summer’s Euros.
“I remember the transfer happened while the U21 Euros were on,” the former AC Milan player recalled. It all happened so quickly. I felt overpowered because I was representing Italy. I’ve discovered a lovely group of people. They’re willing to welcome everybody, and it became clear to me that the people of Newcastle like what they do.
“I’ve observed the entire crew working nonstop over the past two months. At the practice facility, I’ve been working nonstop, and football is like that. You must be open to new challenges.
