The Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics rivalry just got better, if you thought it could get any better.
When the Boston Celtics announced they will be hosting a celebration in Miami to honour their championship victory over the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week, a lot of people took notice. One of the NBA’s top rivalries will only get more intense come next season, especially after images of Jayson Tatum clutching Larry O’Brien emerged on Thursday afternoon.
The team reporter for the Boston Celtics, Taylor Snow, posted a photo of herself grinning while holding the trophy. Naturally, Heat fans had an opinion about it.
Following their triumph, it appears like the Celtics have targeted the Heat more than the Mavericks. Jimmy Butler, a forward with the Heat, was first targeted by Boston supporters. Butler’s claim that the Heat would have defeated the Celtics in the opening round if he had been playing still set them off. Butler’s knee ailment kept him out of the series. Not a single game was close for the Heat, who fell 4-1.
The Butler roast even attracted Derrick White’s father. Richard White uploaded a picture of his kid with the championship trophy. The caption said, “It was even great holding the following one. Jimmy, did I do it right?”
The reason for the jabs are simple: these teams really enjoy competing against each other. There is no hate or dislike. There is just nothing better than the Celtics besting the Heat and vice versa.
These teams truly like fighting against one another, which is the straightforward explanation for the jabs. There isn’t any dislike or hate. Nothing compares to the Celtics defeating the Heat and vice versa.
In four of the last five years, the Heat and Celtics have faced off in the postseason. In those games, they are 2-2. Everybody has their famous moments. In 2020, Heat centre Bam Adebayo stopped Jayson Tatum from dunking. In 2022, during Game 7, Jimmy Butler missed a 3-point shot at the buzzer. In 2023, the eighth-seeded Heat defeated the first-seeded Boston team.
The competition between LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh and Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce may have been eclipsed in the last five years. Wade’s 2011 elbow dislocation against Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and James’ incredible 45-point performance in Game 6 against Boston Celtics while down to elimination both helped the Heat win both series.
The fact that there will always be a new season is the nicest part about everything remaining current. It is impossible to predict what will occur.
