Reported Everton target Wilfred Gnonto has returned to training with Leeds United after being

forced to train away from the squad following a transfer request and refusing to play in the club’s

opening fixture, according to The Yorkshire Post.

The player has been heavily linked to Everton as well as Italian sides Roma and Atalanta after being told he would

need to play top flight football to be considered for the 2024 Euros squad for Italy. He sat out the clubs last three

fixtures against Shrewsbury Town, Birmingham City and West Brom whilst also submitting an official transfer

request in an attempt to force a move from the club following their relegation.

However, after talks with the clubs hierarchy the player has returned to full training with Daniel Farke’s side.

Leeds are determined to keep hold of the player after losing several key figures already this summer and are hoping

to see out the transfer window after being able to reintegrate him back into the side. He will therefore be able to play

this weekend against Ipswich Town but whether the manager will opt to use him so soon after his return remains to

be seen.

Everton haven’t officially ended their interest in the player, nor have Roma and Atalanta but their task has become

somewhat harder following the latest news. It could mean Sean Dyche’s side will have to turn to another attacking

option as the deadline fast approaches.

Writer’s View

This has been an ongoing saga for some time and I sense this isn’t the end of it. I’m not a huge fan of players forcing

moves, there is an amicable way of doing it without refusing to play. An official transfer request whilst maintaining

your professionalism should be a priority. Hopefully this is the end of the “antics” whatever happens next.

It is likely the Championship club have made some promises, perhaps a January move or a certain figure? We will

have to wait and find out.

‘VERY USEFUL’: EVERTON TIPPED TO SECURE TRANSFER OF 25-YEAR-OLD SERIE A SUPERSTAR

My whole Everton team deserved to be taken off, says irate Sean Dyche

Don Hutchison has backed Sean Dyche’s Everton to secure the transfer of Udinese superstar, Beto.

The former midfielder thinks Beto can be ‘very useful’ for an Everton side that have lost their opening two Premier

League games, without scoring.

Hutchison did mention on Twitter that Beto isn’t prolific, but he is someone that would ‘bring midfielders higher up

the pitch’.

The 25-year-old has started the new campaign by getting a goal and an assist for Udinese in the Italy Cup, whilst his

team were well-beaten by Juventus on the opening day of the Serie A campaign.

Last season, he scored ten goals from 33 Serie A games, with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham offered the chance to sign the player.

Nonetheless, with Everton in search of goals, this is what Hutchison posted to fans about Beto.

“Everton fans looking for a Centre Forward take a look at Beto at Udinese (been linked before),” said Hutchison.

“He showed last night v Juve. When given the right service he can be very useful (not prolific) but a decent target man that would bring midfielders higher up the pitch.”

Che Adams incoming?

The Toffees can’t afford to rely on Dominic Calvert-Lewin because he simply can’t stay on the pitch for 90 minutes.

Then there is Neal Maupay, his confidence is well and truly out of the window, hence why someone like Che Adams

is being targeted.
