Crystal Palace injury update ahead of Aston Villa as Roy Hodgson deals with a stumbling block….
Crystal Palace are concerned about defender Marc Guehi’s fitness after he was taken out at half-time during England’s 3-1 win against Scotland on Tuesday.
Following the international break, Villa will meet Roy Hodgson’s Palace at Villa Park on Saturday (3pm). Unai Emery’s team was thrashed 3-0 at Liverpool last time out, snapping a three-game winning streak.
Palace, on the other hand, has only lost one of its first four games. Guehi has played an important defensive role for the Eagles and his absence would be a huge loss for Hodgson.
The 23-year-old made his debut for Gareth Southgate in the 150th anniversary match against Scotland. Southgate explained after the game that he was replaced by Harry Maguire because “he was just feeling something at half-time.”We hope it’s not too serious, but he wasn’t able to continue.”
Former Arsenal centre-back Rob Holding, who signed on deadline day, might make his debut, while Chris Richards and James Tomkins are other options for Hodgson.
