SO SAD : An Ex Arsenal player was found dead yesterday this made the club

Samuel Oji, a former young player for Arsenal, tragically lost unexpectedly at the age of 35.

“All it is with a very heavy heart that I am deeply saddened to inform you, that our beloved Captain, Leader and Legend Samuel Oji has sadly passed away,” his current non-league team Highgate United tweeted.

“At this very sad moment, Sam’s wife, children, and family are in the thoughts of everyone at Highgate United FC. RIP Oj.”

London-born Prior to earning his first professional deal with Birmingham City in 2004, Oji spent his formative years at the Arsenal system.

Prior to joining the O’s permanently in 2008, he spent four years at the Blues and also enjoyed loan stints at Doncaster Rovers, Bristol Rovers, and Leyton Orient.

Before signing with Highgate United in 2018, Oji had stints with Irish clubs Limerick and Galway as well as non-league clubs Tamworth, Worcester City, and Hednesford Town.

Prior to making the tragic announcement of Oji’s departure on Saturday morning, the club took action to address rumors of his death on Friday evening, stating that their captain was still fighting for his life.

The welfare of Samuel Oji had been the subject of several remarks posted on social media during the day, according to a statement on Friday night. Sam is battling like the warrior he is while being gravely ill.

“At this very trying time, we ask that people respect the privacy of his family and close friends. More information will be made available by the club soon.

Lee Hendrie, a former England and Aston Villa player, tweeted: “Such terrible news about the big man @SamuelOji_24.

“One of the friendliest people you’ll encounter, both on and off the field. Considering the family. gone far too quickly. Goodbye, huge man.

Tragic news this morning as former Limerick F.C player Samuel Oji passed away, the old team Limerick FC said.

Sam, who was signed by Stuart Taylor, was a superb athlete, but even more so, a superb human being.

“The club extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. RIP.”

Leyton Orient tweeted: “We’re deeply saddened to learn the news that former player Sam Oji has passed away.

“Our thought are with Sam’s nearest and dearest in this difficult time .Rest in peace, Sam.”

Birmingham City added: “The Club is devastated to hear of the passing of former player Sam Oji, aged 35.

” The thoughts of everyone at #BCFC are with Sam’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
