Clemson sees two more defenders enter the Transfer Portal
Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba will look for a fresh start as he’s entered his name in the Transfer Portal.
‘Tis the season of recruiting with the Transfer Portal booming and recruits counting down to their commitment or looking to flip schools. With the Tigers now in bowl season, there is time for the team and coaching staff to focus on the future and try to bolster the program.
News broke today that two more players decided to stick their names in the portal. Safety Andrew Mukuba announced that he has put his name in the Transfer Portal. Mukuba was a key contributor in the secondary and the defense this year with notable performances against Notre Dame (6 tackles and 1 pass deflection) and North Carolina (4 tackles and 2 pass deflections). Mukuba showed up when the Tigers needed him. The emergence of the 2023 class could’ve played a part in Mukuba’s decision to leave. The 2021 Freshmen All-American started 31 games for the Tigers. A fresh start and more snaps could help impress NFL scouts.
True Freshman David Ojiegbe decided to stick his name in the portal as well. Ojiegbe played sparingly behind a veteran defensive line this season, seeing just 11 snaps while redshirting. Next season, Ojiegbe was looking at a profound role where multiple players from the front are leaving with their eligibility being exhausted. Ojiebe was a 4-star recruit out of the 2023 class who showed up in a huge way in the second half of the season during Clemson’s four-game win streak.
