The summer transfer window left West Brom with a limited number of options. However, Carlos Corberan is still producing respectable results on the field.
Many people would have thought that West Brom would be near the bottom of the table following a difficult summer transfer window.

However, Corberan is still in full effect as his team, which has seven points after five games, is currently ranked eleventh.

However, the Baggies’ immediate future continues to be somewhat gloomy as certain key players have contracts expiring in the next year.

Here we look at three player contracts that West Brom need to keep an eye on ahead of 2024…

Alix Mowatt
When Alex Mowatt joined the team, Valerien Ismael made an extremely solid signing. But because he hasn’t improved, his contract will expire at the end of the current campaign.

He appears to have a chance to make an impression this season, though. There is still hope that Mowatt can deliver for West Brom after putting in some strong performances while on loan at Middlesbrough last season, especially in the latter half of the campaign.

Phillips, Matt
Last season, Matt Phillips under Corberan really showed his value. Prior to an injury that ended his season, the Spaniard’s arrival brought out the best in Phillips. He is now recovered and back in the starting lineup.West Bromwich Albion's Matt Phillips Stock Photo - Alamy

This season, the 32-year-old has made five league appearances and scored once. If he performs well for West Brom, a new contract might be offered to him.

Erik Pieters

Last summer, Erik Pieters joined as a free agent and went on to put in some very good performances for the club in the 2022/23 campaign.

And since then, the 35-year-old has made four appearances in current campaign after signing an extended contract. He is still a highly valuable player for West

Brom despite his advanced age, and if he has another strong season with the Baggies, he may be able to extend his contract for another year.
