Georgia Football Final Injury Report Ahead of Georgia Tech Game
Georgia travels to Atlanta on Saturday to take on Georgia Tech in the Bulldogs’ regular-season finale. Here is the final injury report for the Bulldogs ahead of the matchup with the Yellow JacketsGeorgia is heading on the road once again this week for a rivalry week clash with bitter rival Georgia Tech in the latest edition of “Clean, Old Fashioned Hate.” The Bulldogs closed out a third-consecutive 8-0 conference record with their 38-10 win over Tennessee in Knoxville last weekend and enter the game against the Yellow Jackets with an opportunity to set an SEC record for consecutive wins. Georgia Tech is not enjoying the type of success that its in-state rival has this season, but the Yellow Jackets have made strides under first-year Head Coach Brent Key and at 6-5, have already attained bowl eligibility for the first time since 2018.
Georgia has been forced to overcome a multitude of injuries to key players throughout the 2023 season, and while the overall injury situation has improved, questions remain about the status of a number of the Bulldogs’ most important players ahead of the matchup with Georgia Tech.
Here is the final injury report for Georgia’s regular-season finale against Georgia Tech.
Georgia Football Injury Report- 11/25
- CB Julian Humphrey (Upper Body) – OUT Humphrey has earned a larger role in the Georgia defense prior to suffering an upper-body injury in Georgia’s week 11 game against Ole Miss. The sophomore cornerback missed last week’s game against Tennessee and appears likely to miss several more weeks of action.
- ILB Jamon Dumas-Johnson (Forearm) – OUT Dumas-Johnson has missed Georgia’s last two games against Ole Miss and Tennessee after suffering a fractured forearm in Georgia’s week 10 matchup with Missouri. Smart has declined to offer specifics regarding the preseason All-American’s progress but did reveal last week that “it’s week to week. We’re trying to get him back.”
- WR Ladd McConkey (Ankle) – DOUBTFUL McConkey, who rolled his ankle against Ole Miss in week 11, attempted to play last week against Tennessee but was limited to only a handful of snaps. When asked about McConkey’s progress on Tuesday, Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart revealed that “Ladd’s still recovering,” and indicated that while the Bulldogs are “trying to get him back,” the star wide receiver “hasn’t been able to do much.”
- WR Rara Thomas (Foot) – QUESTIONABLE Like McConkey, Thomas attempted to play last week against Tennessee but was unable to finish the game due to what Smart has described as a foot sprain. Throughout the week, Smart was non-committal on Thomas’ availability for the Georgia Tech game saying on Tuesday, “We’ve been keeping the weight and pressure off it. Hoping we can get back as well. We’ll see.”
- OL Tate Ratledge (Knee) – QUESTIONABLE Ratledge exited the game against Tennessee a week ago with what Smart described as a “bone bruise” after banging knees with a fellow Georgia lineman. Ratledge was reportedly limping earlier in the week, but Smart indicated that he has improved as the week progresses. His status for the Georgia Tech game, however, remains up in the air.
- DT Warren Brinson (Calf) – PROBABLE Brinson missed the Tennessee game a week ago after suffering a calf injury against Ole Miss the prior week. After Tuesday’s practice, Smart offered encouraging news regarding Brinson’s availability against Georgia Tech: “Warren took some reps today. I thought he did a good job pushing through.”
