It has been reported that Southampton has expressed “strong interest” in Callum O’Hare, a Coventry City favorite who is leaving the team. Following their victory over Leeds United in the play-off final last month, the newly promoted team is getting ready for life back in the Premier League. Manager Russell Martin is obviously looking to bolster his squad in an effort to keep them up during what is always a challenging first season, so the team needs to get stronger.
On social media platform X, Jack Rosser, the football reporter for The Sun, posted: “Southampton wants to bring in a new striker/forward this summer.” Liam Delap and Ben Brereton Diaz are on the list, and there’s still a chance that Che Adams will stay.
“Callum O’Hare has drawn a lot of interest, but the deal appears unlikely at this time.” The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has been given the option to sign a new contract with the Sky Blues, but both the team and the supporters seem content that he will leave the CBS Arena as a free agency when his current deal expires later this month. FootballScotland said that Celtic is interested in the former Aston Villa prospect, who signed with City on a free transfer in the summer of 2020 after a productive season-long loan stay. TEAMtalk also stated that Burnley and Leeds United are interested in the player.
It has also been suggested that West Ham could be interested in signing him.
