REPORT: Spur midfielder’s thinks is better than him

Gary Neville has claimed that Bruno Fernandes is far better than Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison. 

Tottenham beat Manchester United 2-0 on Saturday night in what was a thrilling affair.

The game was extremely open with a number of chances at both ends. In particular in the first half, Manchester

United came close to scoring several times while Spurs looked threatening every time on the counter.

Spurs came out as eventual winners. Pape Matar Sarr scored the opener for Tottenham with a well taken finish from

And towards the end of the game, Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez put the ball in his own net from a

Ben Davies’ scuff shot to seal the win for Spurs.

Despite the win, while commentating live on Sky Sports, Gary Neville suggested that Bruno Fernandes is a better

player than James Maddison.

He said:

“I would like to see Fernandes central, he is Manchester United’s best player.” 

“He is the Maddison of Manchester United. In fact, he is far better, in terms of his stats. He

has been unbelievable since he has come to the club.

“But it’s certainly not his favoured position out on the right wing and he is having to go out

there because Man United’s midfield is being destroyed by Tottenham.
