The Los Angeles Lakers are still interested in trading for Toronto Raptors guard Bruce Brown, according to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. At the NBA trade deadline in 2024, the Lakers made an attempt to acquire Brown. The Raptors are attempting to trade Brown after acquiring his 2024–25 club option.

Speaking of the Raptors, Siegel stated that they are still looking into potential suitors for veteran swingman Bruce Brown, who is about to reach the final year of a $23 million contract. “Throughout the league, Brown is well-liked for his versatility across positions and his ability to produce clutch plays that don’t always translate into statistical victories.

The 27-year-old played a significant part in the Denver Nuggets’ 2023 championship run, and a number of playoff-contending teams will be interested in signing his deal before it expires. “Sources said that Los Angeles is still interested in Brown this offseason.

The Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks were two teams that expressed interest in him last season.” This past season, Brown was a player for the Raptors and Indiana Pacers. In addition to shooting 47.8% from the field, 32.3% from beyond the arc, and 82.4% from the free-throw line, he averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.3 blocks.

With the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, Pacers, and Raptors, Brown—a one-time NBA champion—has averaged 8.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks over his career. The Lakers’ 2023–24 record was 47–35. In five games, they were defeated by the Nuggets in the opening round of the playoffs.

In the 2023 Western Conference Finals, Denver also prevailed over Los Angeles. After two seasons, the Lakers dismissed Darvin Ham, and former NBA guard JJ Redick accepted a four-year contract of almost $8 million a season. NBA sources Shams Charania, Jovan Buha, and Sam Amick of The Athletic claim that Redick’s main priorities are lightening LeBron James’ workload and increasing Anthony Davis’ involvement. LeBron is the NBA’s oldest player at 39 years old. In December, he turns forty.
