Newcastle United transfer rumours amid loan left-back search and Ryan Fraser’s Celtic link

Here’s a look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours

Here are your Newcastle United transfer rumours on Tuesday, August 15.

Newcastle keen to sign either Kieran Tierney or Marc Cucurella on loan

According to a report in the Telegraph, Newcastle are still keen to sign a left-back and are targeting a loan deal for either Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney or Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella.

Ryan Fraser could be on his way out of Newcastle

Both deals would include either an option or an obligation to buy the player next summer and the report claims Newcastle have been given reason to believe both players would like to make the move. They are also confident of reaching a breakthrough with one of their Premier League rivals.

The report also suggests the Magpies would be keen to find a similar deal for a right-sided centre-back but aren’t convinced there are many viable options on the market right now.

Celtic line up move for Ryan Fraser

According to the Northern Echo, Celtic are lining up a move for out of favour Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser.

Fraser is training away from the Magpies’ first team and, alongside Isaac Hayden and Jeff Hendrick, has been deemed surplus to requirements on Tyneside.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign a new winger at Parkhead and is said to have identified the Scotland international as a possible option ahead of making a formal approach.

Fraser last played for Newcastle in October last year and has been training with the club’s development squad. Speaking about their futures at St James’ Park, Eddie Howe said: “I think with those players, in particular, it is very difficult for us as a football club because in an ideal world for their careers we’d want them to go and play football and have a good career at another football club.

“But there’s all sorts of difficulties associated with it, contract length, the amount of money they are earning and it is finding a football club that they want to go to as well. They are all great lads. I have no issue with any of them and I wish them well, but let’s see what happens.”
