Among the most ardent sports fans worldwide are those of the Green Bay Packers. They have a lengthy history of showing up in other teams’ stadiums in addition to selling out Lambeau Field.
Of course, David Bakhtiari is recuperating from a second knee surgery that cut short his 2023 NFL season after only one contest. By the time training camp rolls around, he should be fully healthy and able to contribute to any NFL team. Steve Silverman of Clutch Points reports that the Chicago Bears are the bookmakers’ favorite to sign the former All-Pro when he becomes available in free agency.
“According to BetOnline, the Bears are one of four teams that have the best shot of signing Bakhtiari. The website lists the Bears at +500 to lure Bakhtiari if he doesn’t return to the Packers.
“After Chicago, the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are the second choice at +600. The Baltimore Ravens are third choice at +800, and the Dallas Cowboys are fourth at +900.”
Remarkably, Bakhtiari only played one game last season—against the Bears—and he was receiving hostile hand signals from Chicago supporters (which he returned with a couple of his own).
Landing Bakhtiari would make sense for the Bears, who are still trying to assemble the best team around star rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
