Mikel Arteta will keep working as hard as he can to make sure that his Arsenal club can contend for the big trophies up for grabs, even as injuries are starting to take their toll.

What this new deal does is continue to strengthen the bond that the manager has with all of his young players, and gives everyone the stability that’s required for longer-term success.

There is a sense that success may be just around the horizon for Arsenal since the team is clearly headed in the right direction and Arteta has the full support of the board.
