Rangers are reportedly setting their sights on a major transfer move involving Benfica. With the need to offload players before making new acquisitions, the club is now linked with two promising stars from the Portuguese side.

Tiago Gouveia and Martim Neto are at the center of Rangers’ transfer ambitions. Gouveia, currently valued at £7 million, is being pursued by clubs from Russia and France. However, Rangers are keen to bring him in on loan. Gouveia, who recently scored in Benfica’s 3-0 victory over Casa Pia, has expressed his desire for new opportunities amid ongoing frustration.

Similarly, Neto is another Benfica player who could potentially join Rangers. While Neto has had limited first-team appearances, his performances in pre-season have caught attention. Rangers, having recently lost midfield stalwarts John Lundstram and Ryan Jack, are considering Neto as a replacement, especially with Connor Barron showing promise after his move from Aberdeen.

Benfica will only sanction the departures of Gouveia and Neto if they can find suitable replacements. Both players are seen as valuable assets, and their possible move to Rangers highlights the club’s proactive approach in the transfer market as they prepare for the Champions League.

As Rangers continue to build their squad, the potential addition of these Benfica players could significantly bolster their lineup and enhance their competitive edge in upcoming tournaments.
