Rangers anticipate making a decision regarding the new manager search “early next week.”
After discussions with five applicants, Rangers anticipate reaching a “final verdict” on their search for a new manager by early next week, according to Alan Nixon.
On Sunday, October 1, the Gers fired Michael Beale, and since then, they have spoken with Frank Lampard, Kevin Muscat, and Philipe Clement about the position.
“The Ibrox outfit have already met Frank Lampard and made contact with Aussie ex-Rangers player Kevin Muscat and former Monaco coach Philipe Clement for the prestige post,” he stated.
But before a final decision, which is scheduled for early next week, their team of authorities still needs to speak with two more people.
We know the club don’t want to rush the decision to appoint a new manager, but we are also aware that there isn’t an unlimited amount of time that they have to get this decision right.
There is one more game to go against St Mirren before an international break, but the club should be looking to get the new man in through the doors as quickly as possible so that he has as much time to work with his new squad and hit the ground running.
We need to see what the new man is capable of after Michael Beale managed to go on a four-game winning streak with four straight clean sheets during the most recent international break.
The position appears to be open at the moment because neither a favoured applicant nor a front-runner has emerged. However, the club cannot afford to make a mistake here.
