Ex Lakers player found dead and the course of his death has been revealed
At the age of 33, Darius Morris, a point guard with the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, departed this life on May 4.
According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner, coronary artery atherosclerosis, commonly referred to as coronary heart disease, was the cause of his death.
The study, which was made public on Friday, also listed hydrocodone, cocaine, and ethanol as contributory causes and classified the way of death as an accident.
“With great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved son, Darius Aaron Morris,” the Morris family announced.
“During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Morris started his basketball career at Mar Vista’s Windward School and went on to have a stellar career at the University of Michigan.
