Throughout the history of the Tour de France, numerous Maillot Jaune clashes have taken place in the Pyrenees mountain passes.
Tadej Pogačar tightened his hold on yellow this year by tearing up the Pla d’Adet, and a day later, on the Plateau de Beille, he moved even closer to a third Tour victory. On stages 14 and 15, Pogačar proved he was the strongest in the Pyrenees mountains, even if Jonas Vingegaard appeared to be closing the gap on him earlier in the week.
The drama that transpired on the trip was set against a strikingly beautiful backdrop of the Pyrenees. The verdant valleys and rugged peaks provided the ideal backdrop for a powerful and agonizing weekend for the peloton.
