In a significant shift for Port Adelaide, five players, including contracted defender Tom Clurey, have parted ways with the club. Clurey, Quinton Narkle, Francis Evans, Tom Scully, and Kyle Marshall have all been delisted, marking a new chapter for each of them. While Clurey’s contract originally extended into 2025, he made the decision to explore other opportunities, signaling a fresh start in his AFL career. This change aligns with Port Adelaide’s evolving defensive lineup, which Clurey acknowledged, though he expressed confidence in his remaining potential on the field.

Reflecting on his journey, Clurey, who has played 124 games for the Power but has not seen game time since early last season, shared his appreciation for his time with the club. “Port Adelaide has been an important part of my career, but it’s time to move forward and consider what the next phase holds,” Clurey remarked. His availability in the upcoming delisted free agency window, opening on November 1, has already piqued interest from West Coast, signaling potential new beginnings as the off-season approaches.

Quinton Narkle, who joined Port Adelaide from Geelong through the mid-season draft, has played 16 games with the Power. Narkle was a valuable addition following 41 games with Geelong, showcasing versatility and experience at the club. Similarly, Francis Evans, another former Cat, played 17 games in his most recent season with Port, participating in all three finals games. Both players, along with Scully and Marshall, were recognized for their contributions and commitment by Port Adelaide’s list manager Jamie Cripps, who wished them success in their future paths.

The list changes also included Tom Scully and Kyle Marshall, who, despite not making senior debuts, demonstrated growth and dedication since being drafted in 2022. While they didn’t have the chance to step onto the AFL field, their effort and potential were acknowledged. Cripps emphasized their importance within the team, adding, “Their attitude and dedication have been commendable, and we appreciate their time here at Port Adelaide.”

This series of changes reflects Port Adelaide’s broader adjustments as they refine their lineup for the future. With these players now seeking new opportunities, both Port and the athletes involved look forward to fresh starts and potential growth as the upcoming AFL season draws near.
