Port Adelaide fans have quickly mobilized to support their coach, Ken Hinkley, by launching a GoFundMe campaign to cover his $20,000 fine imposed by the AFL. The fine was handed down following Hinkley’s taunts towards Jack Ginnivan after a recent finals victory. The fundraiser, set up by a fan under the alias ‘KenHinkleyFanBoy’, aims to collect funds to pay the fine directly to the club, not to the individual fan. The supporter argues that the fine is unjust and believes Hinkley, who is passionate about his role, should not bear the financial burden alone.
