Peter Bell Steps Down from Fremantle Dockers, Leaving a Legacy of Leadership and Growth

Peter Bell, a long-time figure and respected leader within the Fremantle Football Club, has decided to step down from his position as Executive General Manager of Football Talent, Strategy, and Special Projects. After years of dedicated service, Bell announced he would be leaving his role, a choice he described as challenging yet essential for both his career and the club’s future.

Reflecting on his time at Fremantle, Bell expressed pride in his contributions across various roles, including his initial days as a player, time on the board, and his recent tenure on the executive team. His decision to step aside, he shared, would create an opportunity for the club’s list managers, David Walls and Darryn Fry, to take a leading role in the upcoming AFL and AFLW drafts and foster a new era of development.

Club CEO Simon Garlick commended Bell’s impact, noting that his leadership played an instrumental role in advancing the club’s AFL and AFLW programs. Garlick highlighted Bell’s expertise in managing player lists, overseeing coaching transitions, and steering the club through the turbulent COVID-affected seasons. Under Bell’s guidance, Fremantle’s position strengthened significantly, reflecting his influence and dedication to the club’s growth.

In the interim, the responsibilities Bell managed will be divided among the club’s executive team. Walls and Fry will now report to Joe Brierty, Executive General Manager of Football, ensuring continuity in the club’s strategic vision. This transition will allow the Fremantle Dockers to maintain their momentum while exploring new possibilities within their leadership structure.

As Bell embarks on his next professional chapter, the Fremantle community celebrates his contributions and extends best wishes to him and his family. His legacy at Fremantle Dockers leaves an indelible mark on the club, one rooted in commitment, resilience, and forward-thinking leadership.
