On June 12, the coach of the Thiruvananthapuram district cricket school was taken into custody on allegations that he had sexually abused a youngster in 2019. Following the arrest, numerous others came forward.
The Kerala Cricket Association coach’s parents have petitioned the High Court for a fair investigation. Into the claims of sexual assault against him on behalf of five young girls who were under his instruction. The instructor was arrested last month after allegations that he sexually molested a girl in 2019.
Before his imprisonment became public, the coach worked for the Thiruvananthapuram district cricket academy. Five other girls have made similar charges against him.
The KCA advised on Friday that cricket associations across India not appoint him as a coach, and that his accreditation from the BCCI-affiliated National Cricket Academy be revoked. The parents’ case before the Kerala High Court included allegations of “suspected mafia involvement” and other parties engaged.
They have recorded and posted images and films of the kids for economic benefit on a number of websites, as some of them promote child abuse and other unlawful activities. The request read, “It is suspected that the accused and his allies have taken photographs of the survivors in their underwear with the criminal intention to misuse it in the future.”
A child’s mother who filed a report and was arrested in 2019. Under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act also shared her daughter’s story.
She stated in the appeal that she wished to relocate to Bengaluru and stop practicing cricket. “After that, she started acting strangely, but her family didn’t know what was wrong. She just experienced fear after running into the coach in Thiruvananthapuram. The girl then disclosed what had occurred in 2019, which prompted the complaint to be filed.

“In 2022, he dealt with a case like this. Subsequently, the affiliation precluded him from assuming the role of coach. However, several parents and kids wanted him to return as coach, claiming that the complaint stemmed from selection-related concerns.
But the association was not ready to welcome him back,” he said. Adding that the court finally decided the matter after parents and students testified in support of the accused.
Even after the coach’s acquittal. He acknowledged that the KCA had made a mistake and should have prevented the coach from leaving. “Back then, we ought to have looked into it internally,” he stated.
Over time, the coach harassed multiple girls sexually, according to a parent who spoke to The Indian Express.
“After he wriggled out of the earlier POCSO case, he had shown the same tendencies. He used to take girls to a tournament in Tamil Nadu without any women staff or coach accompanying.
“A few parents withdrew their daughters (from coaching) in the last few months because they became suspicious of his behaviour,” he claimed.
