The wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers talked about what occurred to his teammates.

Pittsburgh — Diontae Johnson, a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, gained notoriety over the weekend for the wrong reasons after he was seen leaving the field after an opponent recovered a fumble during the team’s game.

The Steelers’ Week 12 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals began with a drive in which Johnson dropped a throw in the end zone that may have been called a touchdown. Running back Jaylen Warren fumbled close to Johnson on the following play. When cameras captured Johnson’s lack of effort during the play, it quickly went viral online.

During his weekly news conference, head coach Mike Tomlin stated that Johnson will “need to answer” for the play with his teammates. Since then, the wideout has apologized in front of the squad.

Johnson remarked, “I spoke with my teammates about the situation.” “They are aware of my feelings and how I should handle the circumstance the next time it arises. I took responsibility for it. Since I’m not flawless, all I can do is keep playing football and move on. I’m just concerned about that.”

Johnson said none of his teammates had responded, although it’s possible he wasn’t trying to find one. Rather, he just stated, “It won’t happen again.”

Johnson stated that he anticipates being in the starting lineup in Week 13, indicating that things are probably being settled on the squad. He will now concentrate on strengthening his response to subpar plays and reestablishing any lost trust with his teammates.

Johnson remarked, “I had no idea the play was still going.” “If I could make the play again, I’d jump on the ball.”
