Hospice patient in Steelers country thrilled to receive Patrick Mahomes gift package

Approximately one hour’s drive southeast of Pittsburgh is South Connersville, Pennsylvania, thus it should come as no surprise that the municipality is teeming with ardent Steelers supporters. Charlotte Holt, 91, is one of them, but she also has a strong affinity for Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Holt said to Roxanne Abramowitz of the Daily Courier, “I don’t know, I just like him.” “I find him to be amiable,” According to that account, Holt is on hospice, and Rebecca Bloom, a neighbor and caretaker, contacted the Steelers and Chiefs of Holt’s passion for football. This is from the article in the Daily Courier:

She was a 91-year-old hospice patient and loved Patrick Mahomes.” Rebecca also contacted the Steelers, who sent Charlotte a sticker. That’s a cool gesture by the Chiefs, right? Holt was thrilled to receive the goodies from Kansas City, and daughter Jackie Bartholomai surmised that her mom might have difficulty choosing who to support if the Chiefs faced the Steelers. That’s when Holt interrupted and said: “Patrick always wins.” The Daily Courier story said Holt only follows the Chiefs because of Mahomes. “The best scenario would be if he would come to the Steelers,” Bartholomai said. “Maybe,” Holt said, “they would start winning then.”
