Divine Deablo, a linebacker, rejoins the Raiders defense

Las Vegas Raiders 2023 preview: Realizing Divine Deablo's potential - Silver And Black Pride

For the past two weeks, one of the Las Vegas Raiders’ greatest defensive players has been out of the lineup. As the Raiders approach a pivotal run of games, linebacker Divine Diablo makes his comeback.

The position group that the Las Vegas Raiders had the most doubts about heading into the season was linebacker.

With nine games under their belt, the group has proven their mettle; the Raiders’ defense has witnessed a major uptick this season, mostly thanks to the linebackers from Las Vegas.

Luke Masterson and Divine Deablo, two linebackers for the Silver and Black, returned to practice this week. The defense has performed admirably, but they have really lost Deablo’s quickness and ability to stop fast throws and screens. The depth Masterson offers to the defense has also been missed by Las Vegas.

Interim Coach Antonio Pierce commented, “It’s good, they both had good weeks of practice and are ready to go.” “Having a complete group there is a nice thing. Over the past two weeks, there have been injuries in that room, sort of like a Rolodex.

“However, one quality I’ve noticed in our team members is their willingness to take risks. They’re prepared to battle through nicks, aches, and injuries.”

Deablo was sidelined for a portion of the Chicago Bears game as well as the next two. Despite missing that time, Deablo leads the Raiders in tackles this season with 52 overall.

As a player for the New York Giants and winner of a Super Bowl, Pierce is aware that injuries are a problem for every club in the National Football League during this time of year.

As the Raiders get ready to meet the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football, Pierce is still pleased to have his finest players back on the field.

“You’ll never be 10 percent until we get back in January in the offseason,” Pierce said. “So, for our guys just to get them out there and to have that unit be a glue again, it’s really good for our defense.”

Las Vegas’ defense has exceeded expectations this season, battling adversity in more ways than one.

Deablo and Masterson bring many positive attributes to the Raiders, making their defense formidable. Their respective returns to the lineup should make things easier for the Raiders as they face a crucial three-game stretch before their bye week.
