An unsigned forward is reportedly on the brink of finalizing a contract with Collingwood, having passed crucial medical evaluations. Veteran player Tim Membrey, known for his time with St Kilda, has undergone a successful medical check at the Magpies’ headquarters, which signals his potential addition to their forward lineup that is in need of reinforcement.
At 30 years old, Membrey boasts an impressive record with 179 games played over 12 seasons with St Kilda and Sydney. Despite his experience, he currently does not have a contract for the 2025 season. This move comes as Collingwood aims to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming year.
Reports from Seven’s Mitch Cleary indicate that Membrey’s signing is now viewed as a mere formality. In the 2024 season, he participated in 19 matches for the Saints, maintaining a consistent performance with an average of 1.6 goals and 5.2 marks per game—reflecting his solid career averages.
Membrey’s addition will enhance Collingwood’s forward line, which already features notable players like Dan McStay and Brody Mihocek. McStay made a commendable comeback this year after recovering from a severe knee injury, while Mihocek also faced challenges after a pectoral tendon rupture. The forward group, complemented by smaller players such as Jamie Elliott and Bobby Hill, promises to be a dynamic force next Season
As Collingwood gears up for the trade and free agency period, they have already made significant moves, adding ex-GWS player Harry Perryman and former Port Adelaide dual All-Australian Dan Houston to their roster
