Dan Kemp and Jake Young’s futures were discussed favorably by Swindon Town manager Michael Flynn in his remarks to the team following Swindon’s 6-0 victory over the weekend.
Fans are already concerned about the likelihood of the attacking partners being recalled following their explosive start because the two loanees are both from League Two clubs.
Flynn has “good faith” that both players will remain with Swindon for the length of the season. Flynn is familiar with the situation as previous Robins Jerry Yates, Eoin Doyle, and Tyreece Simpson all suffered recalls from their loans after having successful starts to their seasons.
Rapid Fire Start
The Robins have started the new season unbeaten after a disastrous year that saw two permanent managers go. Despite having a game in hand on 22 teams, Swindon has the most goals for and the greatest goal differential in the league with two victories and two draws under their belt.
Recall Potential
Young, who joined Swindon on loan from Bradford City, and Kemp, who joined from MK Dons, have both made significant contributions to the team’s promising start. If any player is still playing at or near the top of the league in January, there is a chance they will return to their parent club. Bradford and MK will both be looking for seasons that would see them achieve promotion.I’d like to believe—in good faith—that they’ll be here for the length of the season unless they decide to return to their previous teams or someone makes one of them an absurd offer that the other club can’t refuse. We tried to permanently sign Dan Kemp, but Milton Keynes Dons have the upper hand.
I enjoy Jake as a player. At Bradford City, Ryan Sparks and I get along well, and it was our connection that allowed us to close the transaction. There, they like Jake, but all they wanted was to see him play ordinary football. They believed that since we had a small audience, he would have the chance to do that.
