According to sources, Tottenham has made a last-minute bid to take Trevoh Chalobah on loan from Chelsea.
In the early hours of Friday, Spurs launched a £40 million bid for Conor Gallagher, but in the closing moments of the summer transfer season, the club has made a new inquiry for Chalobah.
The Chelsea defender was anticipated to leave Stamford Bridge before Friday at 11 p.m. because he hasn’t appeared in any of the team’s three Premier League games so far this season.
Chelsea and Bayern Munich conducted discussions about a deal, but they were unable to come to an agreement before their window closed at 5 p.m. GMT on Friday..
Chelsea, on the other hand, could be unwilling to aid a rival and might thwart Spurs’ efforts.
Chalobah, 24, has rejected a move to Steve Cooper’s team despite Chelsea receiving a £25 million deal for him from Nottingham Forest.
As a result of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s failure to finalize his transfer to Atletico Madrid on deadline day, Spurs are likely to miss out on Gallagher.
On Friday, Mauricio Pochettino responded to a question about Gallagher’s future by saying, “All players in the squad are in our plans.” A choice is made thereafter by the player and the club.
Conor is a reliable player who can play a variety of roles. We’re content with him.
“Circumstances happen in the past; we can say nothing; we can only express our feelings from day one, and he has shown great commitment to the club; he was captain two days ago; he is an important player, but the future I don’t know,” the statement reads.
“If you are the best, you will play, even if we pay a lot of money on a player.
“Every member of the team is aware that they will play if they are worthy of doing so. That is what is taking place with the squad.
“Just because we invested a lot of money in a player doesn’t imply he will play. We hope Conor stays with us since we are so thrilled with him.
