Hjalmar Ekdal, Vitinho and Aaron Ramsey all went off injured.
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany felt his side paid a price for their 1-0 Carabao Cup win at Nottingham Forest after Hjalmar Ekdal sustained a serious-looking knee injury.

The latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper’s Reds prepare to make their Premier League return against the Clarets.
Nottingham Forest are in the middle of their international break, preparing to return to action against Burnley.
When the Premier League resumes following a two-week break, Steve Cooper’s side will be looking to build on their strong start to the season. That means a clash with the newly promoted Clarets at the City Ground on Monday night.
Cooper will have to make some difficult selection selections for that game, following a hectic transfer window for Forest. And he’ll be hoping that the break has allowed some players who have been injured to rest.
However, some members of the team appear to have been injured while serving with their respective countries. We examine the issue as it currently exists.
What we know: The Brazilian was scheduled to play against Burnley in the Carabao Cup, but he was forced to withdraw due to a hamstring injury. He got a scan before the game against Chelsea and was a doubt for the trip.
The midfielder was given the nod to start, but he only played for 45 minutes. He pulled up near the end of the first half and left the field after receiving treatment. He later withdrew from Brazil’s Under-23 squad.
What we know: A knee injury kept the defender from playing in any of the Reds’ preseason games, and he barely trained over the summer. He has yet to play for the first team this season, but he has been on the bench against the Clarets and at Stamford Bridge. Last week, he played an hour for the Under-21s against Harrogate Town in the EFL Trophy.
“Felipe is back training and was on the bench on Wednesday night,” Cooper revealed ahead of the Chelsea game. “It’s encouraging that he’s returned to us because we all know how important he was for us last season.”
“It was a variety of different things,” Felipe stated last month through a translator.
