Despite his long-term injury problems, Newcastle United’s injured full-back Emil Krafth has been included in the new squad.
Newcastle United’s Premier League squad for the first half of the 2023/24 season has been confirmed. The Magpies’ season-long roster includes injured Sweden international Emil Krafth and Joe Willock, both of whom are expected to return in the following weeks.
“United has confirmed its squad list for the first half of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign,” the club said in a statement.
“Clubs must submit squad lists of no more than 25 players, with no more than 17 players who do not meet the home-grown player criteria, to cover the period until the winter transfer window closes in January.”
“Summer signings Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes are included for the Magpies, as are Joe Willock and Emil Krafth, who are both working their way back from injury.”
“Because the list only includes contracted players over the age of 21, younger players such as Elliot Anderson and Lewis Miley, as well as recent additions Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, are still eligible to play but do not need to be named on it.”
