Striker sees move away from Nottingham Forest fall through
Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news from Nottinghamshire Live as out of favour striker falls to secure move to Turkey to play for Trabzonspor
Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis has reportedly seen a move to Turkey fall through.
Trabzonspor were said to be eyeing up the 25-year-old, who has not been involved for the Reds this season. There is almost a week to go before the Turkish Super Lig summer window shuts on September 15.
According to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale, a “positive report” on Dennis had been created by Trabzonspor’s scouting team. Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Tai are also said to have had Dennis on their radar but the window in the emerging Middle Eastern market has closed.
However, Own Goal Nigeria say Trabzonspor have decided to look at Dennis’ countryman Paul Onuachu, who is set to leave Southampton after a miserable spell on the south coast. The Daily Mail say Onuachu is set to a medical ahead of a transfer.
Dennis joined the Reds 12 months ago when he penned a four-year deal after making the move from Watford. However, he struggled to make an impact last term and is yet to feature this time around.
Forest bolstered their attacking resources before last Friday’s deadline. They brought in striker Divock Origi and winger Callum Hudson-Odoi in the final 24 hours of the window. Anthony Elanga had already linked up with Steve Cooper ’s squad earlier in the window.
