Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports that the Miami Heat would likely be among the more active clubs in the upcoming days due to a change in the collective bargaining agreement. This season, teams can start talks with their own free agents on June 30th, the day after the NBA Finals end, and until then.
With a 46-36 record in the previous campaign, Miami became the sixth winning team in a row. The Heat had to go through the play-in round once more, and they were once again seeded eighth. However, the Heat were defeated in the first round’s five games, in contrast to the previous season, when they became the first eighth seed to advance to the NBA Finals.
