Mark Keane, the former dual-star from Cork, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Adelaide Crows with a new three-year contract. This extension ensures that Keane will remain with the Crows until at least 2028. His impressive performances over the past two seasons had already secured him a contract through the end of next season.

Keane initially joined the AFL in 2020 with Collingwood and has since accumulated 31 game appearances, including 21 this season as a key defender for the Crows. His football career began with significant achievements, including a crucial last-minute goal in Cork’s 2020 Munster championship victory over Kerry. Keane also contributed to the Cork hurling team in 2022 and briefly in 2023.

At just 24 years old, Keane feels he has made substantial progress at Adelaide and is eager to continue his development. He expressed his enjoyment of his time at the club, noting the strong connections he has built with teammates, staff, and fans. He is enthusiastic about the upcoming pre-season and the potential for further growth over the next four years.

Adelaide’s list boss, Justin Reid, praised Keane’s contributions, highlighting his competitive nature and pivotal role in the team’s defense this year. Reid expressed the club’s satisfaction with Keane’s performance and their excitement about his extended commitment, seeing him as a crucial part of the Crows’ future.

This contract extension marks a significant milestone in Keane’s career and reflects both his personal growth and his value to the Adelaide Crows.
