The Logan County Nutrition Education Program, a part of the University of Kentucky’s NEP, is excited to introduce its latest initiative, “Healthy Choices for Every Body,” starting Wednesday. This new program will be broadcast via Facebook Live and aims to spread nutrition education throughout Kentucky’s communities.

By offering these lessons online, the program ensures that even those who cannot attend in person will have the opportunity to participate and benefit from the educational content. This approach broadens access to vital information on healthy eating and nutrition.

Participants in the program will receive a complimentary bag of kitchen supplies after completing all seven lessons. Additionally, those who engage with the program and complete a survey will be entered into weekly giveaways, adding an extra incentive to stay involved.

Whitney Paige Alexander, Senior Logan County NEP Assistant, encourages parents and grandparents to mention their child’s or grandchild’s school when they sign up. This information helps in notifying the Family Resource Youth Service Centers (FRYSC) about the program’s reach and participation.

The sessions will be available live on Facebook from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates: September 4 and 18, October 9 and 16, and November 6 and 13. In addition to the online content, NEP offers various resources both online and at the Logan County Extension office, aimed at helping families manage their food budgets effectively and reduce waste.

For further details or questions, individuals can reach out to their school FRYSC or contact Paige Alexander at the Logan County Extension Office at 270-726-6323.
