And if former Scotland international James McFadden’s prediction comes true, he could light European stage up in 2024 by joining Andy Robertson in representing his country at the EUROs.

Could Ben Doak represent Scotland at the Euros?

James McFadden believes the young Liverpool star will be selected for Euro 2024, stating the 17-year-old may be a “wee wildcard” for manager Steve Clarke.

“I think there’s a good chance he’ll go to the Euros,” he told Open Goal. He’ll earn minutes and chances at Liverpool this season. He’ll take part in Europa League games.

“He has Salah in front of him. But he’ll play, and I think he’ll be a wildcard for the Euros. Whether it is from the start because we named a larger squad the last time. We invited [Nathan] Patterson, [David] Turnbull, and one other person.

“They were permitted to go train and gain experience.” The squad was soon expanded, and wee Billy [Gilmour] was brilliant at the Euros. But I believe Ben Doak has a strong chance of making it to the Euros.”

Liverpool have a truly special talent in Doak.

With his reckless push to overcome fullbacks, Liverpool fans have taken to the right wing with the type of excitement that is sometimes lacking on the flanks in the present Premier League era.

Wingers were the most exciting players in the game until the late 2010s, and while that is still true, very few players today operate with the same freedom and creativity that wingers did.

Doak, while not the most prolific player at the moment, has the capacity to burn opponents and even beat Alphonso Davies many times during pre-season.

Doak’s signature move is difficult to defend because he lets his marker to get tight and then dashes in behind to spark an attacking play just as he should be taking a touch to control the ball.
