The squad building process for Leicester City is going well in front of the Premier League season.

An Italian journalist claims that Leicester City and Juventus have “agreed” to pay €30 million for the sale of Matias Soule after the previous bid was rejected.

West Ham was also rumored to be interested in the youngster, however Mirko Di Natale clarified that the midfielder wishes to join fellow Serie A team AS Roma.

The 21-year-old Argentina youth international joined Juventus’ academy in 2021 after rising through the levels at Velez Sarsfield, his home country. After that, he moved up to their “Next Gen” team, where he made his team debut in September 2021 against Salernitana.

In an effort to obtain first-team experience, he was loaned to Serie A—now Serie B—struggling Frosinone last season. He succeeded in doing so, impressing multiple suitors throughout Europe with a decent return of 11 goals and three assists as the side was demoted from Italy’s top level.

His tasteful yet potent approach has been likened to that of Argentinean colleagues Angel Di Maria and Paulo Dybala. “The comparison was made with Di Maria, but Fideo is an already established and exceptional player, he is a World Champion,” his representative stated in an interview with the Italian journal TMW in 2023. While Mati is Mati, he and Dybala are both extremely skilled players.

Despite having only played four games, he is now the second-best player in all of Serie A for completed dribbles. Perhaps he would have won if he had played six.

“While it’s common for people to compare players in order to better grasp their respective traits, doing so is inappropriate in the modern era. Matias enjoys playing football and is a football player.

He loves this game so much that he doesn’t sleep when he’s not playing. Abdul Fatawu, a winger, has officially joined City, but they are still looking for more offensive options. Although Soule often plays in a similar position, Steve Cooper will prefer wide players with depth.
