This week, the New England Patriots will travel to Miami to take on the nn where they will play their second consecutive AFC East Divisional game. Last week, the Patriots played Buffalo at Gillette Stadium and won 29-25 thanks to a touchdown throw from quarterback Mac Jones to tight end Mike Gesicki with 12 seconds left.
The two teams will clash again this week for the second time in 2023. On September 17, at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots fell to Miami, 24-17. The game will pit Miami’s top-ranked offense against the Patriots’ ninth-ranked defense.
SERIES HISTORY
The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins will square off for the second time in 2023 on Sunday. Miami beat New England, 24-17, at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 17. The two teams split the series in 2022, with the Patriots losing on opening day at Miami, 20-7, on Sept. 11, and then getting revenge with a 23-21 win at Gillette Stadium on Jan. 1.
Although New England is superior against Miami at home, they are just 17-41 away from the city, with losses in their last three trips to Hard Rock Stadium. Sept. 15, 2019, saw the Patriots’ most recent triumph at Miami, 43-0.
The Dolphins and Patriots first faced off in 1966, and starting in the 1967 regular season, they played twice annually, with the exception of 1982 due to a players’ strike.
The two have played three times in the postseason, with New England holding a 2-1 advantage.
