With 12 goals and six assists in all competitions for Villarreal last season, the 22-year-old has established himself as a significant player.
He would be a great long-term investment for Aston Villa and they could use a skilled playmaker like him.
Both a winger and a central offensive midfielder, Baena is versatile. For Aston Villa and Emery, his adaptability will be a plus.

Baena is still only 22 years old, so with training and experience, he should develop further. He will advance much further by working with an elite trainer like Emery.
It will be thrilling for the player to have the chance to reconnect with the Spaniard, but it is unclear whether the West Midlands club will be able to reach an agreement with Villarreal when the transfer window reopens in January.
The midfielder’s contract reportedly contains a release clause of about €35 million, and at that price, he might turn out to be a good deal.
