Coventry City boss pays touching tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton

Coventry City boss Mark Robins has spoken of his sadness at the news of the death of England and Man Utd legend Sir Bobby Charlton

Mark Robins has expressed his sorrow on the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton, a legend of Manchester United and England, at the age of 86.

The 1966 World Cup winner visited Old Trafford during his time as a developing player, as described by the Coventry City manager and former Red Devils striker.

Paying tribute to Sir Bobby, Robins said: “I’m really sad. Sir Bobby was a gentleman. He was a brilliant player, everybody knows, but he was a gentleman.

“He was somebody who supported everybody at that football club all his life and I was one of 1000s of kids that went to his soccer schools in the early part of my life.

“He’s a genuine tragic loss, and I can still recall them today. We were all familiar with him. He was constantly visible throughout the area. My thoughts are currently with his family even though I am aware that he has been suffering for a while.
