Real Madrid ‘plotting Alphonso Davies approach’
Alphonso Davies, a defender for Bayern Munich, is someone who Real Madrid apparently wants to add to their roster in the summer of 2024.
Since joining Bayern for the 2018–19 season, the left-sided player has made a name for himself as one of the finest in the world in that part of the field.
Despite the fact that the Canada international’s development has occasionally been hampered by injury, 157 appearances across all competitions have resulted in eight goals and 28 assists.
However, as of this point in his contract, which he began in 2019, Davies has less than two years left, putting Bayern in a position where they would naturally wish to renew.
Under head coach Thomas Tuchel, Davies continues to be a significant contributor. He has contributed three assists in as many games as Bayern has had a flawless start to the current Bundesliga season.
However, Marca claims that Davies has no desire to sign new contracts at the Allianz Arena.
According to the story, the 22-year-old is ready to seize any chance to represent Real Madrid, a team of which he has long been an admirer.
Given that Carlo Ancelotti has access to both Ferland Mendy and the recently acquired Fran Garcia, Los Blancos cannot now claim to be lacking in the left-back position.
In addition, c and the adaptable Nacho Fernandez, who can play wherever along the backline, can switch from central defense if needed.
However, none of those players are thought to have the potential to hold the No. 1 spot in the long run, with Mendy likely to be traded as soon as a lucrative offer comes in for his signing.
Garcia has started each of Real’s first four La Liga games in 2023–24, but the 24-year-old has yet to shown that he can consistently hold down the position at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
From Bayern’s perspective, if Davies consistently rejects the offer of a new deal, they are unlikely to take the chance of losing him on a free transfer in 2025.
Raphael Guerreiro is already a comparable alternative for Tuchel, but the German would almost probably enter the market if money were to be raised via the sale of Davies.
