Celtics star thanks journalist with classy gesture
The star of the Boston Celtics Jaylen Brown now has the biggest deal in NBA history, and he is making a point to thank everyone who made it all possible.
Brown gave Mike Singer of the Denver Post a very refined personal email this week, which Mike shared with the public. Singer was one of the journalists who selected Brown as an All-NBA selection for the most recent campaign.
“Dear Mike,” Brown’s note began. “I wanted to thank you for choosing the All-NBA team for the previous season. I am aware of the influence that the All-NBA voting process currently in place has on players like me in the league today. I also understand that neither you nor any other journalists agreed to participate.
However, the email said, “I know you took the time to consider all deserving candidates and appreciate your vote.” “Thank you once more and best wishes for a happy and healthy off-season to you and your family. Best,Mr. Jaylen Brown.
We know that Singer was one of the people who selected Brown for the All-NBA second team this past season because All-NBA ballots are made public. The Celtics were able to offer Brown a supermax deal extension after Brown made the All-NBA second team, his first All-NBA squad of his career. Last month, he inked a five-year, record-breaking supermax contract with the Celtics for a sum of $304 million.
Brown is not universally seen as being worth that much money coming from Boston. But you can’t say that Brown is unappreciative after receiving such a large salary.
