Joshua Sets Up A Comeback In September Or August

Anthony Joshua prepared to beat Usyk ...

According to Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua will likely face off in August or September.

After defeating Francis Ngannou in March, the former heavyweight champion of the world was positioned to face the victor of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s two uncontested heavyweight title bouts.

While a rematch between Fury and Usyk is planned on May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, it is improbable that it will happen until late 2024.

Joshua’s reputation has been restored after he defeated Usyk four times in less than a year. Because of this, he is eager to stay in the ring and, according to his promoter, if Fury and Usyk agree to a rematch, he will probably do so by taking on the victor of the June 1 bout between Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic.

Hearn of Matchroom remarked,  The fact he’s had four fights in 11 months is a lot of training camps. He has completed 40 weeks in 11 months, with each training camp lasting 10 weeks. It is likely that he would want to fight in July, but I believe it will happen in August or September. He and His Excellency met the other day, and they decided to wait and see what occurs on May 18.

His Excellency stated that we’ll have to wait and watch what occurs on May 18. The desire for Fury to face “AJ” if he prevails, however, will make it impossible for Usyk and Fury to rematch. However, they have a two-fight agreement.

Daniel Dubois, the Filip Hrgovic winner, most likely. or the Fury Usyk winner. We are aware that they have a two-fight deal. Now, truly, the goal is to compete for a global championship. In reality, he wants to do that.

Joshua might still win against either opponent since Hrgovic and Dubois might challenge for the IBF belt.

When asked if a bout between London’s two best heavyweight fighters would take place in Saudi Arabia if Dubois prevailed, Hearn said, “Possibly.” Naturally, His Excellency has stated that he wants to perform at Wembley, but there hasn’t been any discussion as to who would be the main act for that.
