Everton attacker Dele Alli to be out for 4-5 weeks due to fresh setback – Injury Expert

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Dele Alli of Everton needs a lot to go right in order for him to play against Liverpool on October 21.

The timescale for his return was stretched, the injury specialist reveals, because he underwent surgery and subsequently experienced a setback in his recuperation.

Even in preseason, the 27-year-old has yet to make an appearance for the Toffees under Sean Dyche, and he hopes to return to action as soon as possible.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said,

It’s difficult to give a timeline here because we know he had surgery in the early summer but then had a setback.

“We don’t know a lot about what that setback was or how it affected his ability to return.

“A recovery date of October 21 has been set, but it depends on how his body responds over the coming week or two [which could further delay the timeline].”

Alli’s recuperation hasn’t been easy, so everything seems to be done on the fly with him.

The England international also disclosed that he has been struggling with his mental health, which is another difficult struggle he is waging behind the scenes.

Alli has received support from the Toffees staff, and Sean Dyche has only spoken highly of him; however, it is unclear when he will resume playing.
