In the eyes of NBA fans, Miami Heat’s Pat Riley has gone from Godfather to… Joe Biden?

It’s been a ruthless offseason for Miami Heat team president Pat Riley because NBA fans are grilling him for his silence in the open free agency market.

With the exception of re-signing veteran Kevin Love, Riley and the Heat’s front staff had not moved while the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, and Boston Celtics made significant moves. Fans have made an unexpected similarity between it and President Joe Biden. Pat Riley is now

Together with the more modest additions of Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond, the Sixers made their big splash early on Monday morning when they signed star Paul George to a four-year contract. The Knicks, who acquired Mikal Bridges via trade and re-signed OG Anunoby, are among the teams that have been most active this summer. Even though the Celtics did not add any new players, it was important to keep guard Derrick White around.

As a 24-year-old guard with glimmerings of All-Star potential, Tyler Herro is still the Heat’s best available trade piece. If the Heat are done with Herro as a core player, then entertaining trades make sense. The previous offseason indicated that the former Sixth Man of the Year’s trade market value is questionable, but fans would be happy with any significant deal.

Riley needs to take action if the Heat want to avoid making the Play-In Tournament for the third time in a row, even though NBA fans are exaggerating the similarity.
