There may not be a player whose opinion matters more to the Los Angeles Lakers right now than Anthony Davis, even with the great probability that LeBron James will re-sign with the team. Davis has been a focal point since the club acquired him via trade, but he’s also the franchise’s future face since James is scheduled to turn 40 this year.
Additionally, Davis expressed a great deal of gratitude for his new teammate, Bronny James, after the Lakers chose to take him with the No. 55 choice in the 2024 NBA Draft, as ESPN’s Dave McMenamin
The fact that Bronny seemed to want to forge his own career in the NBA rather than just be remembered as the son of one of the best players in NBA history was something Davis found admirable. Beyond that, the nine-time All-Star gave the impression that he wouldn’t be shocked if one of his new teammates was prepared to jump right in and have an effect.
The upside and skill of the former USC guard are obvious, even if he will probably need to spend the most of his rookie season honing his craft. During his one and only collegiate season, the younger James excelled with his shooting during pre-draft drills. He also displayed remarkable defensive skills.
Whatever his vision is for the 2024–25 season, there’s a good chance that LeBron and Bronny will become the first father and son to play together in NBA history. Even while it’s believed that the elder James would choose to forego the last year of his contract, it’s difficult to see a scenario in which he departs the Lakers at this time and forfeits the chance to play with his son.
